Astragalus Root Extract is commonly used to help fight immune deficiencies, infections, and allergies. The Chinese use the dried sliced or extracted powdered root for these reasons and to help boost vitality. Astragalus is generally combined with other herbs to ginseng tea. While Astragalus root extract is believed to help prevent diseases, it doesn’t cure them. Astragalus itself is a large genus of about 2,000 species of herbs and small shrubs. It belongs to the legume family Fabaceae, and subfamily Faboideae. It is also known as milk-vetch, locoweed, and goat's-thorn. It consists of astragalosides and other immunostimulant polysaccharides, beta-sitosterol, flavonoids, and trace minerals, especially selenium.

Curcumin is one of curcuminoid of turmeric, a polyphenol that gives turmeric its yellow color. Curcumin have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, antiviral and antifungal properties. It also fights free radical damages including cataracts, heart diseases, and cancer. Curcumin also proved to be effective in lowering cholesterol level. Research showed that the curcumin inhibits the production of lipozygenase and cyclooxygenase-2, enzymes that promotes inflammation in the body such as arthritis. It also prevents the growth of Helicobacter pylori which causes gastric ulcers and is linked with gastric cancers. Curcumin also protects the brain. Curcumin is a natural detoxifier, protecting the liver from the effects of alcohol and other toxic chemicals.

Resveratrol (trans-resveratrol) is a phytoalexin produced naturally by several plants when they are attack by pathogens. It is also produced synthetically and sold as a supplement. Resveratrol is a polyphenolic phytoalexin, its chemical formula is C14H12O3 and Mol. Mass is 228.24 g mol-1. Research shows that Resveratol has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects. Some studies also reported that it can lower elevated blood sugar levels; however, in majority of these experiments mice were the test subjects and its effects are yet to be replicated in humans. Experiments on nematode worms, fruit flies and short-lived fish have shown that Resveratrol can increase life span, but it did not increase the life span of mice.
